who was Phillis Wheatley?

Phillis Wheatley as a african american poet. She was kidnapped at the age of 8 and brought to Boston where John Wheatley bought her. She soon started serving his wife. later down the road the Wheatley family adopted her as their own. After that John Wheatley's wife taught her how to read and write which started her love of poetry.
